The Estevan Century 21 Bruins' provincial ambitions are over after the bantam A team lost both games of a semifinal series to Yorkton on the weekend.

The Bruins lost the total-goal series by a total of 12-5 following a 10-4 loss on Saturday and a 2-1 defeat on Sunday.

On Saturday, the Terriers exploded for seven goals in the second period at Spectra Place to take an 8-4 lead after 40 minutes.

The squads had been tied 1-1 after the first period.

Cory Peloquin scored twice for the Bruins, with Mitchell Morrison and Ryan Smith adding markers.
Jaden Porte paced Yorkton with four goals, while Jorie Dull (2), Brendan Dzuba, Carter Flasch, Hunter Arnold and Ryan Merkyl also scored for the visitors.

The two teams played a much tighter game on Sunday in Yorkton, with all three goals coming in the first period.

Cole Lindsay opened the scoring for the Terriers with 7:35 to play in the frame, and Dzuba gave them a two-goal edge four minutes later.

Estevan's lone goal came from captain Kyle Seipp with 40 seconds to play.

Meanwhile, the Bruins will face the fifth-place Regina Jets in the Hockey Regina league semifinals. No dates had been determined as of press time.
