Monday was trade deadline day in the SJHL and the Eagle Drilling Estevan Bruins used it to acquire 20-year-old forward Jonathan Ceci from the Nipawin Hawks in exchange for the rights to defenceman Tyler Mueller and forward Colton Schick, both of whom are 1994-born players.

Ceci, who was the SHJL Player of the Month for December, steps into the Bruins lineup and automatically becomes the team's leading scorer with 18 goals and 27 assists for 45 points in 36 games.

"He's a quick, intelligent forward, and he's got some finish," said Chad Leslie, Bruins head coach and co-general manager. "He's a guy that can play anywhere; he can play in any situation and he's just a hard-working, team-first guy and that's what we want."

Ceci will be in Estevan's lineup tonight when they host the Yorkton Terriers at the Civic, and according to Leslie he's very excited to be joining the Bruins.

Estevan also sent forward Cole Gibson to Battlefords for 1994-born forward Dayton Picard. The Bruins then traded the rights to goaltender Derek Tendler to Winnipeg Saints of the MJHL for futures.
