The Estevan Bruins have acquired 1990-born forward Troy Hunter from the Dauphin Kings of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for 1991-born forward Jeremy Peeke.

Hunter was ninth in scoring on a Kings team that finished second at the RBC Cup national junior A championship tournament. The six-foot-two, 200-plus pound forward had 32 points in 56 regular-season for Dauphin to go along with 100 penalty minutes.

Peeke, meanwhile, had 16 points in 44 games for Estevan in 2009-10.

The trade is the first step to closing a January deal that saw the Bruins deal 19-year-old forward Devin Mitzner to Dauphin for future considerations. The transaction will be officially closed June 1 when Mitzner's rights revert to Estevan.

An official announcement is expected from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League on Monday or Tuesday.
