Owen Barrow (28) had the overtime winner in Game 3.

ESTEVAN - Owen Barrow scored his second of the game with 47 seconds to play in the first overtime period to lift the Estevan Bruins to a 4-3 victory over the Flin Flon Bombers Tuesday night at Affinity Place.

Flin Flon now leads the best-of-seven quarter-final series 2-1.

Barrow opened the scoring on a short-handed break 9:14 into the first period.

But on the same power play, the Bombers would tie the game, as Bombers' defenceman Alex Von Sprecken scored. Von Sprecken is an Estevan product and a former Bruin who was traded to the Bombers last fall.

The Bombers struck twice in the second period. Lucas Fry's goal gave Flin Flon a 2-1 advantage, and Liam Bridger notched the 3-1 marker late in the period.

Jagjeevan Phangura and Ilia Chmelevski scored less than two minutes apart in the third period for Estevan to tie the game at 3-3.

The Bruins had the best initial chances to take the lead, and hit the post with less than six minutes to play in regulation.

Flin Flon had multiple opportunities to score late in the third on a power play, but the Bombers were denied by Bruins netminder Cam Hrdlicka.

The Bombers carried over the momentum into overtime and carried the bulk of the play in the first few minutes. But the Bruins took over and had most of the best chances to score in the second half of overtime.

Still, the Bombers had a great chance to notch the winner in overtime just before Barrow scored on an odd-man rush to win the game.

Cam Hrdlicka of the Bruins finished with 33 saves on the night.  Harmon Laser-Hume had 39 saves for the Bombers.

Game 4 will be played Wednesday night in Estevan, starting at 7 p.m.
