The Eagle Drilling Estevan Bruins edged the Melfort Mustangs in a shootout last night to win their second road game in as many nights.

The Bruins fell behind early when Owen Roschuk of the Mustangs scored 1:16 into the first period to give the home team a 1-0 lead.

Estevan's Matt Dochylo tied things up three minutes into the second frame, beating Melfort netminder Jesse Ehnisz with his 10 goal of the season.

The two clubs traded third period markers as Dylan Smith scored for the Bruins at the 10:59 mark to give his club a 2-1 lead, only to see the Mustangs get the equalizer with less than a minute remaining.

A shootout was needed to decide a winner, and it was the Bruins who came out on top 3-2.

With the victory, Estevan moves into sole possession of third place in the Sherwood Conference with 55 points, two ahead of Weyburn.
