Update: Estevan beats Flin Flon 3-0, ties the series at 2-2

Cam Hrdlicka made 35 saves for the shutout.

ESTEVAN - Cam Hrdlicka made 35 saves to backstop the Estevan Bruins to a 3-0 win over the Flin Flon Bombers Wednesday night at Affinity Place in Estevan.

Estevan carried the bulk of the play to start the game, and the Bruins were rewarded when Evan Forrest scored with less than seven minutes to play in the first period.

Jagjeevan Phangura doubled the lead with a power-play goal less than seven minutes later.

Flin Flon did outshoot the Bruins 14-11 in the first period, but many of their shots on goal came on a 5-on-3 power play late in the period.

Both teams had chances to score in the second period but couldn't convert. The Bombers outshot the Bruins 9-8 in the frame and also hit a post.

The Bruins had a strong showing defensively for most of the third. The Bombers generated chances during a couple of power plays in the final eight minutes of the frame, but Hrdlicka shut the door when called upon.

Keagon Little finished the scoring with an empty-net goal with 57 seconds remaining.

The best-of-seven series is now tied at 2-2. The home team has won all four games in the series. Including last year's seven-game SJHL final and a 2014 showdown between the two teams, the home team has won 13 straight times in playoff contests between Estevan and Flin Flon.

Game 5 will be played Friday night in Flin Flon and Game 6 is set for Sunday night in Estevan.
