Celebrity Golf Tournament in Rouleau

The Community of Rouleau is hosting the Hockey and Hearts Celebrity Golf Tournament on June 22.

The Hockey and Hearts tournament has been established to bring together the community and celebrities for a day of golf, food and fun to raise funds for the Rouleau Community rink and a designated charity. This year, the committee is proud to announce that the charity of choice will be the Mandi Schwartz Memorial Bursary.

Mandi Schwartz, from Wilcox, passed away at the age of 23 after a two-year battle with Leukemia. A product of Notre Dame, Schwartz was attending Yale University where she played with the Bulldogs woman's hockey team, while also participating in Canadian Women's National Team camps.

Hockey and Hearts has confirmed that the following celebrities will be in attendance at this year's event: Keith Aulie, Rouleau - defenseman with the Toronto Maple Leafs; Rylan Schwartz, Wilcox - Colorado College Tigers; Jayden Schwartz, Wilcox - Colorado College Tigers; Scott Schultz, Roughrider Alumni; Roger Aldag, Roughrider Alumni; Bob Poley, Roughrider Alumni; Garth Murray, forward, Manitoba Moose; Mike Blaisdel, NHL alumni; Brent Parker, owner, Regina Pats; and Chad Lang, GM, Regina Pats.

Sponsorship, golf and sportsman dinner packages are available. Round trip transportation will be provided from the Rouleau Hall, to the Long Creek Golf Course. Contact Hoff Insurance at 776-2511 for more information.
