The Crescent Point Energy Wings Peewee "A" team has had a busy start to the hockey season.

We have won seven out of eight games played. Our loss came when we traveled to Moose Jaw on November 14. The game started with a nice goal from Paul Dionne and Josh Mowchenko giving the assist in the first period.

The second period was scoreless for Weyburn, but Moose Jaw picked up two goals. The third period was fast and hard hitting. Moose Jaw scored on their two power plays, and Tyrell Mabee scored with assists from Paul Dionne and Justin Bennett.

The third goal came from Rhett Nikolejsin and assisted by Nivay Haupstein. Josh Dubiel made 48 saves but Weyburn came up short for a 4-3 loss.

On November 17 the CP Wings traveled to Regina to play host Regina Sabres. This was an exciting game - lots of hits and lots of goals. Paul Dionne scored in the first period with Justin Bennett assisting. The Sabres scored about two minutes later tying the game. Weyburn heads to the penalty box for interference, and Paul Dionne scores shorthanded with Dylan Thackeray assisting. The lead was not ours for long with Regina scoring two minutes later.

The second period sees a lot more action. Weyburn scored in under the first five minutes of play when Rhett Nikolejsin got the goal with Miles Lund and Josh Juravle giving assists. Again the lead is short lived. Regina came back and scored two quick goals within the last three minutes of period two.

The start of period three Paul Dionne heads to the penalty box and as his penalty expires, he is in the right place when Ryan Gaab passes the puck up to Dionne and Weyburn gets their fifth goal of the game. Three quick penalties to Regina got the boys moving and two more goals for Weyburn. Dionne scores unassisted and our seventh goal came from Miles Lund with Rhett Nikolejsin. Goaltender Josh Dubiel faced 44 shots and the win goes to CP Wings 7-4.
