Dave Price Memorial Horse Race drew a big crowd to Woodlawn

Carson Harcourt eliminates Jace Carlisle on the final hole to win the event.

ESTEVAN - The annual Dave Price Memorial Horse Race was a big attraction for the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course on Sunday.

The horse race is a nine-hole elimination golf competition held at Woodlawn each year as part of the FrameTech Classic tournament. This year it was contested on the front nine.

The 12 golfers from the tournament’s championship flight were entered. The two golfers with the highest score were eliminated on each of the first two holes, and then one golfer is knocked out on each subsequent hole, until one remains.

This year the winner was Carson Harcourt, who made a lengthy birdie putt on the ninth hole to eliminate Jace Carlisle.

The other golfers entered were Kevin Brandino, Logan Chernoff, Ryan Chernoff, Daryl Donovan, Jayden Dudas, Preston Erickson, Marcus Friess, Taysen Holt, Nolan Rohatyn and Ryan Stovin.

A large crowd gathered at Woodlawn to watch the competition. They followed the action, with most riding in power carts.

The horse race is named after the late Dave Price, who was a big part of the golf course for many years, and loved the horse race event.
