Estevan Bruins crush the Melville Millionaires twice more on the weekend

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Bruins continued to roll on the weekend with two more lopsided victories over the Melville Millionaires.

Estevan started the weekend with a 6-0 win over the Mills Saturday night in Melville. Mikol Sartor opened the scoring six minutes into the first and added a goal early in the second period. Mark Rumsey scored twice in a 16-second span of the second period.

Olivier Pouliot and Antoine St. Onge also scored for Estevan.

Boston Bilous recorded 23 saves to pick up his second shutout of the season.

The following day, the Bruins scored six times in the second period in an 8-2 rout of the Mills.

Rumsey had the lone goal in the first period, scoring five minutes into the game.

Pouliot, Kian Calder and Alex Von Sprecken scored less than two minutes apart in the second to put the Bruins up by four. After Melville scored, Caelan Fitzpatrick, Kade Runke and Pouliot scored four minutes apart to put the Bruins up by six.

Sartor added a goal 1:42 into the third.

Cam Hrdlicka and Boston Bilous shared goaltending duties for Estevan, and combined to stop 22 of the 24 shots they faced. Hrdlicka left the game in the second period with what appeared to be an injury.

Estevan has now outscored Melville 23-2 in three metings this season.

The Bruins (11-3-0-1) have won five straight games. They won’t play again until they host the Humboldt Broncos on Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. The Bruins have the best winning percentage in the league at .767, while Humboldt is second at .750.
