Estevan Bruins’ Dayton Deics secures NCAA scholarship

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Bruins have announced that defenceman Dayton Deics has committed to play for the St. Norbert College Green Knights for the 22-23 season. 

The Green Knights are located in De Pere, Wisc., and have won five NCAA Division 3 championships.

Deics, born in 2001, recorded 10 goals and 25 assists in 58 regular season games. Deics was a key contributor in the Bruins SJHL championship with three goals and 11 assists in 16 playoff games.

He spent three seasons with the Black and Gold, recording 13 goals and 51 points in 111 games. He was named the Bruins' top defenceman in the 2021-22 season. 

“Deics is a very mobile defencemen that competes everywhere on the ice,” said Bruins’ head coach and general manager Jason Tatarnic. “He was an anchor for us all year on the backend and a leader by example for us every night. 

“Dayton Deics was very loyal to our program for three seasons and was great role model for us in our community. We look forward to watching Dayton’s college career and beyond.”

Deics joins former Bruins Michael McChesney and Griffin Asham-Moroz with the Green Knights.
