Estevan Bruins drop third straight extra-time preseason game

The Estevan Bruins continued their preseason schedule on Wednesday.

OCHAPOWACE FIRST NATION - The Estevan Bruins dropped their third straight extra-time game of the preseason Wednesday night when they lost 4-3 in overtime to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Waywayseecappo Wolverines. 

The game was played at the Ochapowace First Nation. 

The Wolverines jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Carson Baptiste and Boone Mathison. Returning defenceman Aleksa Babic scored to pull the Bruins to within one, but the Wolverines restored the two-goal advantage with a tally by Lucas Eagle. 

Sam McPeak scored in the second to pull the Bruins to within one, and Kade Runke tied the game in the third. 

Andrew Boucher had the overtime winner for the Wolverines. 

Jackson Miller was in goal for the Bruins. 

Estevan dropped their first two games of the preseason in shootouts. Both were against the Weyburn Red Wings. 

The Bruins will continue the exhibition slate Friday night when they visit the Virden Oil Capitals of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Then they will host Virden Saturday night at Affinity Place at 7 p.m.
