The Estevan Bruins have a 2-1 lead on the Yorkton Terriers after the first period.

ESTEVAN - Eric Pearce scored twice and Boston Bilous stopped 30 of 31 shots in the Estevan Bruins 3-1 victory over the Yorkton Terriers Saturday night at Affinity Place in Game 2 of the best of seven SJHL semifinal.

Estevan now leads the series 2-0.

Eric Pearce opened the scoring for Estevan just over 10 minutes into the first period. Cody Davis doubled the lead about six minutes later with a short-handed tally.

But Nolan Wutzke would get Yorkton on the board just over a minute after Davis' goal.

Neither team scored in the middle frame and it remained a 2-1 game until the final minute, when Pearce notched his second of the game to dash Yorkton's hopes of a comeback.

DePape finished with 26 saves on the night.

Estevan won Game 1 7-4 on Friday night.

Game 3 will be played Tuesday night in Yorkton.
