Estevan Motor Speedway entertains fans Saturday night; final points program on Sunday

The Estevan Motor Speedway has a program Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Motor Speedway has some close races in its championship standings, entering the final points program of the season on Sunday.

A race program was held Saturday night at the track, with 78 cars entered between the five classes. It was also the first half of the annual Dirt Wars weekend. 

The feature winners for Saturday were Ryder Raynard in the slingshots, Landon Runge in the hobby stocks, Brandon Rehill in the sport mods, Austin Daae in the stock cars, and Tyler Wagner for the modifieds. 

As for the points races, Raynard leads the slingshots with 398 points as he pursues his fourth straight championship. Cash Saxon (389 points) is next, and then there's a drop to Jagger Ashworth (354) and Eli Turnbull (346).

Runge (384 points) has a 16-point advantage over Dexter Saxon (368) in the hobby stock class. Kaiden Tuchscherer and Connor Hansen (366 points each) are tied for third.

Leevi Runge (378 points) is looking for his second straight sport mod championship. He has a narrow five-point lead over Kyle Scholpp (373). Keenan Glasser (360) is third and Justin Fichter (336) is fourth.

The tightest race is in the stock cars, where Gregg Mann (385 points) has a three-point advantage on Chris Hortness (382). Devon Gonas (354) is third and Chase Davidson (346) sits fourth.

Kody Scholpp has a 14-point lead on Tyson Turnbull, 386-372, in the modifieds. Les McLenehan (332) is third and Ed Turnbull (314) is fourth. 

Sunday's program is slated to start at 2 p.m.
