The 20 hour training is FREE and involves activities of strength, balance and flexibility with a social component.

Foreverin motion is a program initiative that helps older adults become physically active through volunteer, peer or staff led physical activity groups.

The goal is to improve and maintain the health of older adults living in the community through support, education, research, partnerships and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.

The program focuses primarily on individuals living in seniors' congregate housing and condominiums or those that attend churches, day programs and community programs to reach and improve health through physical activity for the older adult population.

If you are an older adult who believes in the benefits of physical activity, are active and enjoy helping others, why not volunteer as a leader? This program can help you enhance and develop skills in leading an activity class.

The activity classes can be incorporated into current activities, such as a social gathering for tea/cards or an existing walking club.

Activity classes result in an opportunity for older adults to socialize and receive all the benefits of physical activity.

Pre-registration is required. To register, complete a registration form at southeastconnection.ca, or for more information contact Sean Hanlon, Coordinator at 306-842-2801.
