The Estevan Golden Eels have now won three of their last four meets, including their own on Saturday at the Souris Valley Aquatic and Leisure Centre.

Estevan accounted for 53 of the close to 70 swimmers who attended the meet on Saturday and, not surprisingly, it resulted in them winning it with 918 points. Oxbow was second with 246 and Regina was third with 194.

Coach Erin Wilson said she considered it a large group and that they obviously send the most swimmers to the Estevan and Weyburn meets.

"We're always happy with them swimming well. Many of them had first-time experiences in the races they were involved in. They're growing the way we want," she said of the Eels' performance on Saturday.

The Golden Eels also won Sunday in Weyburn, earning 434 points to Regina's 258.5. The hosts were third with 191 and Oxbow had 135.

"Who can't be happy with that," said Wilson of the club's recent success. "We're doing well. We want the kids to be swimming for fun, obviously, but medals and wins are icing on the cake."

Four Estevan swimmers earned gold medals on Saturday: Hannah Mantei (7-8 girls), Josh Wilson (7-8 boys), Payten Wilson (9-10 girls) and Akeela Jundt (18 and over girls).

Silvers were earned by Taylor Haux (7-8 girls), Kersey Reich (9-10 boys), Jade George and Lanelle Bilokraly (11-12 girls), Auriel Bill (13-14 girls), Veronica Finkas (15-17 girls), Preston Bilokraly (15-17 boys) and David Finkas (18 and over girls).

Taking home bronze were Matthew Hoffort (7-8 boys), Emily Marshall (9-10 girls), Eden Palmer (11-12 girls), Colin Sutter (11-12 boys), Samuel Beahm (13-14 boys) and Cassidy Reich (15-17 girls).

In Weyburn, golds were won by Mantei, Josh Wilson, Payten Wilson and George.

Carson Wheeler (7-8 boys), Lanelle Bilokraly, Bill, Veronica Finkas, Preston Bilokraly and David Finkas all won silver in their respective divisions.

Hauz, Kersey Reich and Cassidy Reich earned bronze.

The Golden Eels will be at a two-day meet in Regina this weekend.
