Frobisher's Shelby Hall has been named to Team Saskatchewan for the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax. The games are being held February 11-27, and Hall be participating in the figure skating events on February 19.

The 13-year-old figure skater, who temporarily resides in Moosomin during the week in order to pursue the sport, said she's both excited and honoured to represent Saskatchewan on such a high level.

Big competitions are nothing new for Hall however; she has participated in many high calibre competitions from Vancouver to Hamilton, and has several gold, silver and bronze medals under her belt.

Hall, who has been skating since the age of eight, says she plans on treating the Winter Games like just like any other competition, and when it comes to expectations, it's all about doing the best she can.

"I'm not really setting a goal to finish in any certain place, I'm more setting a goal to have one of my best personal skates of the year," she said.

Hall will be travelling to Halifax with Shaelyn Olafson, who she lives with, and says she also know two of the skaters heading to the Winter Games from Manitoba.

As for future plans, Hall says if she can keep improving the way she has this year, she intends to pursue figure skating as far as it will take her.
