Harvest Classic tourney held at the Fillmore Golf Course

FILLMORE – The Fillmore ‘33’ Golf Course held their Harvest Classic tournament with 30 golfers taking part on August 14. Winners were Jason Fowler, Jacoba Henderson, Travis Franklin and Paul Henderson in first; and a team from Montmarte in second. Longest drives were Jim and Patty from Montmarte. Longest putt was Ted Glover. Closest to the pin was Richard George. The winners of the wine basket were Tracy and Paul Henderson. Kylee and Daryl Carver supplied the music. A steak supper followed the tournament, with 42 people attending.

Former Fillmoreite Elieen Raczynski, daughter of Paul and Stella Raczynski, of Edmonton, passed away at age 69 years on August 9, after a lengthy battle with dementia with Parkinson’s Syndrome. She is survived by husband Glenn Jones, whose loving care enabled Eileen to live at home until her passing, and sons Sheldon and Sheridon (Carlee). A celebration of Eileen’s life will be held next summer.

Recent visitors at the home of Donna and Bon Pringer were daughters Kathryn Goodale, Oliver and Elanor, and Shauna Orr and son Dexter, all from Edmonton.

Fillmore Healthcare Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 17. The decision was made to hold their annual Craft Fair on October 17, subject to decisions around the COVID pandemic.
