The Estevan Bruins got two goals from their captain and a 32-save shutout from Tyler Ross to win their second straight game Sunday, 3-0 over the Flin Flon Bombers at Spectra Place.

It was the Bruins' first shutout since Feb. 13, 2009, when they blanked Kindersley 5-0, and it moved them back to the .500 mark at 23-23-0-1.

Josh Jelinski opened the scoring at 8:20 of the first, jamming a puck that had hopped off the end boards past Bombers tender Andy Desautels.

Jelinski would make it 2-0 four minutes into the second with a wrist shot that beat Desautels glove side, and the Bruins would spend the rest of the game protecting their lead.

The Bombers spent most of the third in the Bruins' zone, including back-to-back power plays in the last five minutes, but Ross stood tall and Michael Hengen iced the win with an empty-netter.

The game was delayed for about 10 minutes early in the first period when Landon Hiebert was injured after a scary collision with Tyler Poskus at the Bruins' bench. Hiebert's head appeared to strike the boards and he was eventually carried out on a stretcher. No word on his condition.

Eric Baldwin also left with an injury in the first period and did not return. No word on diagnosis or length of time he'll miss.

In other news, Tyler Ross has been named the SJHL goalie of the week for his performance this weekend after posting a 2-1 record with a 2.67 GAA and .923 save percentage. His weekend turned around nicely after a rough outing Friday against La Ronge.

Also, Keith Cassidy said after the game that Zach MacLellan will arrive in town tomorrow. That's a big addition to a D corps that's a little thin right now, especially if Baldwin - who played D the last two nights - is out for any time. Meanwhile, sounds like Trevor Tracy isn't coming.
