The Travis Tokarz rink won in the C final at the junior men's southern playdowns, the Ashley Skjerdal rink won the B final at the junior women's southern playdowns, and the Brooke Tokarz rink placed fourth at the junior women's northern playdowns.
During the junior men's southern playdowns, there were three different Weyburn rinks in contention. The Aaron Verbeem rink includes Colton Lund, Dane Colbow and Jeffrey Nikolejsin. The Travis Tokarz rink includes Kyle Cherpin, DJ Englot and Zac Fradette. The Jesse Sidloski rink includes Drew Moffat, Ryan Zazula and Alex Biletsky.
During the A Event, the Tokarz rink won 11-4 over the Kevin Haines rink. The Verbeem rink lost a close 9-8 to the Austin Williamson rink. The Sidloski rink won 11-5 over the Tokarz rink, then lost 9-6 to the Daniel Selke rink.
For the B event, the Verbeem rink won 8-7 over the Kevin Haines rink. The Tokarz rink won 9-1 over the Williamson rink and lost 7-5 to the David Haines rink. The Verbeem rink lost 7-1 to the Logan Wild rink. The Sidloski rink lost 6-4 to the Lucas Richards rink.
During the C event, the Tokarz rink won 7-5 over the Sidloski rink, and then a close 9-8 over the Verbeem rink. In the C final, the Tokarz rink won 10-2 over the Haines rink.
The Ashley Skjerdal rink competed from the Regina Callie Curling Club in the junior women's southern playdowns. The rink includes Jordan Maas, Shelby Hubick and Amanda Kuzyk. In the A event, the Skjerdal rink claimed a 14-0 win over the Maytind Mallo rink, then won 9-2 over the Rachel Erickson rink and lost 7-4 to the Nicole Thompson rink.
During the B final, the Skjerdal rink won 10-3 over the Allyson Grywacheski rink.
The Brooke Tokarz rink competed from the Saskatoon Nutana Curling Club in the junior women's northern playdowns. The rink includes Janelle Regier, Amanda Shalovelo, Brie Spillchen and fifth Courtney Orsen. During the A event, the Tokarz rink won 11-5 over the Alison Ingram rink, and 8-4 over the Shelby Silzer rink, then fell 7-2 to the Kristen Streifel rink.
During the B event, the Tokarz rink lost a close 7-6 to the Alison Ingram rink. The in the C event, the Tokarz rink lost 3-1 to the Danielle Bertsch rink. The Tokarz rink placed fourth to earn their berth to provincials.
