The Estevan Midget A Bruins went to Brandon over the weekend and brought home the top prize with a 5-0 record.

In round robin play, they beat Holland 8-2, St. Boniface 7-5, and Beausejour 9-1.

They had a rematch with Beausejour in the semi-final on Saturday and trounced them 9-1 for the second time in a row.

Sunday was the A-final against Notre Dame and the team gutted it out with only two lines and won 8-3. Stephane Peloquin had his best game of the season and notched four goals in the final game.

The team was missing three regulars the entire weekend and only had 11 skaters and two goaltenders for the weekend.

Dylan McConnnell ended up with the tournament's best GAA with a 2.00 while Nevan Trombley was close behind in third with a 3.00 GAA. The two netminders played awesome throughout the weekend.

The Bruins boasted the three top scorers in the tournament. Dallas Kickley had 26 points on 13 goals and 13 assists and won four player of the game awards, while Derek Davidson won the other with some stellar defence.

Ryan Frehlick was second in the tourney with 16 points and Cole Stevenson was third with 14 points.

Defenceman Kyle Frehlick was on fire as he ended up the top scoring defenceman in the tourney with nine points.
Bruins next action will be against Midale in the provincial south final in a two-game, total-goals series. Dates have yet to be determined.
