Lay won the 13-14-year-old flight with an 88, beating Salaway by one stroke.Sixteen Estevan juniors also took part in the local summer league's Beat The Pro Tournament last week, with two golfers beating club pro Brian Dueck.Rayna Gibson led with a net score of 31 and Dawson Nobiss carded a net score of 32 to beat Dueck's 34.The tournament format sees Dueck shoot nine holes, along with the juniors. Juniors are challenged to have their net score beat Dueck's gross score. The net score is calculated by subtracting the player's handicap from his or her actual score.Price, Chase Birkett, and Dustin Doerr all tied Dueck at 34.Astros win provincials at Lynn PrimeThe Carnduff Astros beat the Kenosee Cubs 7-4 on Aug. 10 at Lynn Prime Park to win the senior A2 provincial baseball championship.The format of the tournament, which was originally slated to be finished in Kindersley, required Kenosee to beat Carnduff twice in the final to win the championship.Kenosee won Game 1 in 19 innings Aug. 8 and Sask Baseball officials decided to finish the tournament closer to home, with Carnduff coming out on top.Jason Boyes was the winning pitcher for Carnduff.
