The Cougars Novice 8 and Under Team, coached by Larry Rae and Jeff Humphries played two very different games this past weekend. The team has been working hard on positioning, angling and passing. Every game has been an improvement and the teamwork is coming along nicely.

On Jan. 25 the team travelled to Kipling to take on the Royals. We had a strong game both defensively and offensively. With Drayden Arndt between the posts, the Cougars easily out-shot the Royals 9-2. Goals were scored by Colby Cuddington, Cadence Chapman & Carson Dangstorp. Assists were earned by Gracie Sanders, Jackson Humphries and Cadence.

On Jan. 27 the Cougars travelled to Carievale to take on the Storm. Unfortunately, the Storm wreaked havoc on our Cougars, but the team never gave up and played hard until the very end. It was a rough and tough game. Carievale took a few penalties for body contact and we had a couple of tripping infractions. In a very frustrating loss of 21-4. Our goals were scored by Colby and Krimson Standingready, with Cadence earning an assist.

This coming week finds the Novice team in Carlyle versus Wawota on Saturday and traveling to Lampman on Sunday. Good luck team!
