Novice Cougars play in Wawota tourney

Heading out early in the morning heading north down the highway in the fog, for hockey? Yup, hockey! Some of the kids are still half asleep on the drive, but perk up when they see the rink.

Heading out early in the morning heading north down the highway in the fog, for hockey? Yup, hockey! Some of the kids are still half asleep on the drive, but perk up when they see the rink. The parents are running on caffeine, until the excitement of the game kicks their energy into gear, and what an exciting game these 2 teams would give the fans of Wawota and Carlye, and it's a league game to boot. Leading our team on the ice this time goalie #16 Adrien Riddell, defending our goalie we have: #1 Davien Slykhuis, #2 Tyler Colpitts, #3 Logan Young, #4 Spencer Bell, #5 Mason Kyle, #6 Coty Hofos, #7 Degan Galbraith, #8 Trey Baker, #10 Brody Yuzicappi, #11 Devin Loustel, #12 Cade Bendtsen, #13 Hayden McArthur,#14 Nate Robertson, missing #15 Zane Winter. It was a fast paced game from start to finish, all the boys were in the corners digging, and they were skating hard on the back check, there was some great passes and some fantastic goals. Our goalie had some phenomenal saves and we skated away with the win. Great team work out there everybody! Now of course to hit the kitchen and the raffle table to check out all the goodies and maybe watch a little hockey before our next game.

Our next opponent would be Arcola, in net for the Cougars this time is #8 Trey Baker, who played very strong between the pipes. The boys started out strong in the 1st period and would keep the score close, it looks like they petered out and the boys came up a little short in the 2nd, all in all it was a good weekend and the kids have a lot to proud of.

Their next game is Friday the 19th in Kipling, good luck boys skate hard and play strong!

See you at the rink.
