Weyburn soccer groups will soon get underway soon with outdoor practices, with the U5 girls and boys teams already started up indoors in the Credit Union Spark Centre.

Most of the age groups will be outdoors with the exception of the younger programs who will play in the Spark Centre this year due to some field maintenance that will be happening.

“Weyburn Soccer registration numbers are well over 500 players this year with 540. This is the most I have seen registered in the past six years,” said coach and technical director Tyler Hillstead of Weyburn Soccer.

He noted the U5 girls is the biggest group with 54 taking part, playing on Mondays and Wednesdays, and the U5 boys are just under 50, playing on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The boys community program will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the other age groups throughout each evening on the soccer fields, including U7, U9, U11, U13, and U15/17/19.

The girls community program runs on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the same division of time through each evening with each age group having their own time slots.
