Playoffs in sight for Saskota Baseball League

This year the Saskota Baseball League was host to ten teams. The North Division made up of the Arcola Threshers, Carlyle Cardinals, Kenosee Cubs, Redvers A's, and the Wawota Pats.

This year the Saskota Baseball League was host to ten teams. The North Division made up of the Arcola Threshers, Carlyle Cardinals, Kenosee Cubs, Redvers A's, and the Wawota Pats. The South Division consisting of the Carnduff Astros, Estevan Timber Wolves, Lampman Pirates, Lampman Cubs, and the Oxbow Chiefs.

With league play coming to an end it is the Harbourne Memorial Tournament that these teams will look to win. Eight teams will make the playoff tournament. Between two pools of four teams each it is the top two teams which will advance to the semi-finals. Games will be played to six innings and if after four innings a team is up by 10 runs it will be considered a win.

The standings point to the Carnduff Astros, Lampman Pirates, Oxbow Chiefs, and the Estevan Tower Wolves to make the playoffs for the South Division. In the North Division the league standings point to the Carlyle Cardinals, Kenosee Cubs, Arcola Threshers, and the Wawota Pats to make the playoffs.

The Harbourne Memorial Tournament will be held in Kenosee and there is sure to be some great ball played. The weekend of July 20 to 22, is when they will take to the field.

Following provincial play at the beginning of August, Kenosee will be host to the Saskota All-Star game on August 18. Always held the third weekend of August the top three players from each team will be chosen for the showdown in a North Division versus South Division match. Admission to the ball park this day will be $5, which fans and players will both pay. In this instance the game played will be nine innings and is expected to showcase the top talent in the Saskota Baseball League.
