ASSINIBOIA - With a little more than half the season in the books, the Assiniboia Curling Club is quickly working our way to wrapping up another year.

Lately, we hosted the Kirk Muyres/Laura Walker Junior Clinic with 51 participants. We thank their many sponsors along with Batty Ag Ventures locally for making this event a true success.

We hosted the Prairie South Bantam Districts on Feb. 4 and 5, with 12 participating teams.

We are in the middle of our Grade 2-4 Instructional Program as led by Nicole and Travis Eldstrom. At this time, 20 youngsters are taking part.

Our next “Drop In Tuesday” is Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Families, individuals, want to try a different type (doubles, triples). Come give it a whirl.

Our Monday Night and Thursday Night Leagues are in the home stretch of their regular schedule.  Playoffs will begin in early March.

The annual Davyroid Spiel is coming up on Saturday, Feb. 18. Contact Tess at 306-640-8384 for further details.

We are now taking entries for our second year-end spiels which wind down the year. The Ladies runs March 16 and 17. The Men’s annual runs March 23 to 25. To enter for either, call Bill at 306-642-5115 and leave a message or 306-640-9655. We’re also looking at some sort of mixed open fun spiel towards the beginning of March. Watch for details!!

Until next month, stay active!!
