The A’s trailed 3-0 in the bottom of the first inning, but rallied with two runs in the second inning and five in the fifth to lead 7-3. White Butte rounded out the scoring with one in the fifth.

Axton Martin hit a home run for the A’s in the second inning. Matthias Fornwald went two for three in the final, including a two-run single in the fifth that gave the A’s a 4-3 lead.

All of the outs that Phillips recorded were by strikeout.

The A’s and the Broncos were the top two teams in the U15 division during the regular season, and the final was the only game of the playoffs.

The A’s are based out of Alameda and boast players from throughout the southeast region.
