Southeast hockey players selected for Sask. First tournaments

A number of hockey players from the southeast corner of the province have been selected for Hockey Saskatchewan's Sask. First teams that will compete in tournaments this spring.

For the male U18 tournament, which will happen April 15-17 in Regina, 80 players were selected from each of the south and the north. Among the members of the south team are defencemen Landon Kaban and Colton Pushie (both of Estevan), and forwards Spencer Copeland (Alameda) and Ryker Mathison (Oxbow).

The team is for players born in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

For the U18 female tournament, which will be April 15-17 in Regina, the players selected include goaltender Chloe Sorenson (Bienfait) and defenceman Jacey Farr (Estevan).

The team is for players born in 2005 and 2006.

Finally, for the U16 female tournament, which is April 1-3 in Regina, forward Brooke McKinnon of Bienfait was selected.

Players for that team were born in 2007 and 2008.

For the Team Saskatchewan U18 female squad, blue-liner Kate Pirlot of Wauchope was selected, while Robin Ulrich of Lampman will be an assistant coach.
