Ticket sales open for Scotties Ladies Championship

In accordance to health guidelines set by Curl Saskatchewan and Curl Canada, proof of double vaccination for COVID-19 is required to purchase Scotties tickets.

ASSINIBOIA - Curling fans can start buying tickets for the Viterra Scotties Ladies Provincial Championships, which will be held at the Assiniboia Curling Club from January 5 to 9, 2022. A kickoff night for ticket sales was held on October 19.

“It was a good start to ticket sales, we had about 25 to 30 tickets sold,” said Rob Greensides, Scotties Committee Chair. He said quite a few chairs were sold up front, right by the windows of the rink and by the lounge. About half the tables available were also sold.

There are a few different options available for tickets: a week pass for $80, a day pass for $20 and the last draw of the day pass for $10. “The best bang for the buck will be the week pass,” said Greensides.

Tickets are available for purchase at Nelson GM, at their reception desk, and these are cash-only sales. Residents can also call 306-642-5115.

Once the Assiniboia Curling Rink is open, tickets will also be available for sale at that location. Flooding of the rink is scheduled to occur this week, with house circles, rink lines and logos being embedded this upcoming weekend.

In accordance to health guidelines set by Curl Saskatchewan and Curl Canada, proof of double vaccination for COVID-19 is required to purchase Scotties tickets.

They will not be able to accept rapid negative tests.

The Scotties Committee also started a volunteer list on their kickoff night.

“We had a pretty good turnout of volunteers, but we will take all that we can,” said Greenside. He encouraged any interested residents who want to be a volunteer to contact Bill Lothian, manager of the Assiniboia Curling Club, to register their name. Volunteers also have to provide proof of double vaccination for COVID-19.
