The Estevan Bruins are facing the Flin Flon Bombers in Game 4.

FLIN FLON, MAN. - The SJHL final is now tied.

The Flin Flon Bombers handed the Estevan Bruins their worst defeat of the season, a 7-1 decision in Game 4 of the SJHL final Wednesday night in Flin Flon.

The best-of-seven showdown is now deadlocked at 2-2. Game 5 will be played Saturday night in Estevan, starting at 7 p.m.

Jacob Vockler opened the scoring 7:25 into the first period for the Bombers and Jaeden Mercier added to the lead just over eight minutes later.

It appeared the Bruins had tied the game midway through the first period, as it looked like the referee had signalled a goal after a scramble in front of the Bombers' crease. But instead the official was pointing to a Bombers' player for a penalty.

Eric Pearce scored on a power play in the second period to put the Bruins on the board, but Zak Smith responded a few minutes later to restore the two-goal advantage. .

Flin Flon took over in the third, with Drew Kuzma, Ethan Anstey, Xavier Lapointe and Jaxon Martens scoring in a 4 1/2-minute span of the third period.

Boston Bilous and Cam Hrdlicka shared the goaltending duties for Estevan, while Cal Schell and Ben Montgomery were in goal for Flin Flon.

The loss was the worst for the Bruins this season, and marked the first time since late September that they have lost back-to-back games in regulation.
