Weekends Slo-Pitch tournament; caution too much fun.

The dust was flying in every direction at Lion's Park on Saturday, as the summer's Southeast Saskatchewan Leisure Slo-Pitch teams all met up for an end of season tournament.

The dust was flying in every direction at Lion's Park on Saturday, as the summer's Southeast Saskatchewan Leisure Slo-Pitch teams all met up for an end of season tournament. Anyone who wanted to get a sense of how popular the sport has become in Carlyle, needed look no farther than the diamonds full of eager players.The event consisted of nine teams from the area and lasted the entire day. Luckily for these athletes the sun decided to come back for the full day's appearance.The rules of the tournament were that each game would be seven innings, once the round robin games were complete the first place teams went on to the A level events and the second place teams went on to the B level events, while third place filled up the C level. The co-ed team names were of course what had all the spectators chattering about. The cheering was louder than average due to the fact that fans enjoyed screaming out names like Lips and Sticks, Bad Eggs, Hooters, Swinging Nuts, The Hung and Breast Less and many more. The fun continued for the entire day with each team playing a total of four games, no matter how many losses they had. Although some games were played back to back without much time for breathing, the majority of teams had intermissions to go and explore the town. Many of the tired players could be found re-fueling at the town's many restaurants. After a hearty day of ball the players were ready to enjoy a night of fun together. The Office Bar and Grill, as well as many other recreational business' filled up quite quickly as the teams wanted to celebrate their individual victories. One team even arrived in style, pulling up to the games and after gatherings in a luxurious white limo.
