Weyburn boxers fight in Provincial Boxing card

This gallery shows the five Weyburn boxers who took part in the provincial boxing championships, hosted by the Sooline Boxing Club on Saturday evening at the Comp Eagle gym.

The boxers included Wayne Ducharme (in red trunks), who fought an exhibition match in the Junior C category, and Kyler Roettger (red trunks), who fought in the 40kg weight category, Junior A division.

Emerson Jack (in blue trunks) won his match in the 60kg category, Junior B division, against Gabe Wood of Lloydminster in a non-provincial bout.

Tauren Jack (in red trunks) also won his match, a provincial bout against Laith Ayamous in the 60kg weight category.

Jesse Mahaffey (in blue trunks) fought in the super-heavyweight category, and lost his bout to Trent Katcheech of the Lonsdale club.

Weyburn’s former police chief, Marlo Pritchard, was on hand as part of the team of judges for the provincials, and was shown as referee for a bout between two girls, Alexandra Brochu and Keely Hartell.

There were 13 bouts fought altogether, with seven of them provincial-level bouts, with boxers from Hub City, Four Corner, Lloydminster, Sandhills, Counter Punch, Lonsdale, Top Dog and Jaguar Boxing Clubs joining the Sooline Boxing Club.
