Weyburn gymnasts place well at Humboldt competition

WEYBURN – The Airbourne Gymnastics Club from Weyburn competed in Humboldt on Feb. 5, at the Calico Gymnastics Club, with a number of athletes placing well in their first competition.

Coach Taryn Barry said they had 15 athletes attend the competition, with eight athletes in CCP 3 (Canadian Competitive Program), four athletes in CCP 4, and three in CCP 7.

In the CCP 3 category, athletes Shay Warren placed second on vault; Lexi Heimlick tied for seventh on bars; Brynn Huebner tied for sixth on floor; Isabelle Cugnet placed first on Vault, sixth on bars, second on beam, and tied for fourth All Around; and Sadie Hodgkin placed fourth on vault and bars, tied for third on beam, and second on floor and All Around.

In the CCP 4 category, Eliza Gall placed third on vault and floor, and first on bars; Avery Fleck received second on bars and beam and placed third All Around; Mackenzie Pulfer placed first on vault, third on beam, and second on floor and All Around; and Sophie Pollock placed second on vault, third on bars, and first on beam, floor and All Around.

In CCP 7, Peyton Lokken placed third on floor; Hannah Furgason received second on vault and third on bars, beam, and All Around; Karis Gerle placed first on vault, bars, beam, floor and All Around.
