WEYBURN – The technical director and coach for the Weyburn Soccer Association, Tyler Hillstead, is collecting pledges as he aims to take part in the “Million Reasons Run” for cancer research in May.

He has a goal to run 100 kilometres in May, with the aim to raise $1,500 for research at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon.

As of Monday, he was about halfway to his goal, with $748 raised.

He said as he deals with a lot of children through soccer, this seemed like a good cause to help with.

"It's a little different than just donating – it's combining fundraising with active lifestyle, which I am a big promoter of," he added.

This will be his first year running in the fundraiser. To donate, go to Tyler’s page under the “Million Reasons Run” on Facebook.
