Wil-Tech Swing for Scholarships will help future students

ESTEVAN – The sixth annual Wil-Tech Swing for Scholarships golf event happened on June 23 at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course.

The 2022 Swing for Scholarships event raised nearly $10,000 in scholarship dollars for students pursuing post-secondary education at Southeast College. These dollars will be matched through the Ministry of Advanced Education through the Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship program to create $20,000 in student scholarships.

Swing for Scholarships 2022 was the sixth year the college has partnered with Wil-Tech Industries to host the golf event.

“The opportunities that this provides for the careers within the community makes this event so exciting,” said Dustin Wilson. “We’d like to thank everyone for their support and appreciate all the effort put in to make it successful.”

Swing for Scholarships 2022 saw 11 teams hit the course in support of students pursuing post-secondary education at Southeast College. This event could not have happened without our community supporters including, Presenting sponsor Wil-Tech Industries, Drive for Education sponsor, Whitecap Resources, Safe Ride sponsor, City of Estevan, and Hole sponsors, GenCo Asphalt, AMP Motors, Domino’s Pizza, Independent Well Servicing, Southern Plains Coop, Estevan Motors and Certified Energy. And many door prize sponsors.

“Southeast College is proud to be the Trainer of Choice in southeast Saskatchewan offering educational opportunities that encourage students to learn where they live,” said SE College in a press release.

A number of post-secondary programs are now accepting applications for 2022 - 2023.
