Woodlawn repeats as Junior Pro champs

For the second consecutive year a team from Estevan Woodlawn Golf Club has won the Canadian Professional Golfers' Association of Saskatchewans' Titelist Pro Junior tournament.

For the second consecutive year a team from Estevan Woodlawn Golf Club has won the Canadian Professional Golfers' Association of Saskatchewans' Titelist Pro Junior tournament.Donovan Florek, Haley Lingelbach, and Maddie Blischak, along with club pro Amanda Minchin, won the 2010 event with a score of 139 in the team Stableford competition.That score was 11 points better than the second-place team from the host Saskatoon Golf and Country Club.Florek was also a part of the 2009 Woodlawn team, captained by pro Brian Dueck.This year Dueck's team of Tyson Price, Chase McKersie, and Austin Dobrescu finished fourth with a team of 124.Among professionals alone, Dueck earned $475 after tying for third with an 18-hole stroke-play score of 75.Minchin was tied for 22nd after carding an 80.Kyle Mulligan of Lloydminster won the pro event with a 1-under-par 71.Pachal wins with 40 at Points tourneyBrayden Pachal earned 40 points July 14 to win the Chow Dental Points Tournament, the third on the 2010 junior golf calendar at Estevan Woodlawn Golf Club.The tournament works by dividing players into groups based on their handicaps and then assigning points based on their handicap-adjusted score for each hole (ie: five points for an eagle, four for a birdie, and so on).Pachal, playing in the 17-30 handicap group, earned one more point than Sage Dayman, who topped the 30-plus handicap group.Jolan Lingelbach won the 12-16 handicap group with 36 points, Austin Dobrescu won the 0-11 handicap group with 30 points, and Drew Wrubleski won the girls' division with 35 points.This year's tournament attracted 20 male golfers and three females.See stats for further results.
