SASKATOON - The Saskatchewan Rush will have an Estevan connection to start the season.

Wyatt Haux, who plays the transition position, will begin the season on the Rush's practice roster, the club announced Monday. The Rush open the 2022-23 regular season on Saturday against the Colorado Mammoth at the SaskTel Centre.

Haux signed a one-year contract with the Rush back in October.

The Rush selected Haux 92nd overall in the 2019 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft. The Estevan athlete won gold with Canada at the World Junior Lacrosse Championships in both 2018 and 2019, and was the captain in 2019.

Standing at 6-foot-4, Haux joined the Sask Swat program in 2019 and then went on to play Senior B with the Calgary Mountaineers this past summer. Haux notched two goals in two regular season games and an additional two goals and an assist in seven playoff games.
