Yellow Grass mother and daughter in Las Vegas Marathon

A Weyburn-area woman and her daughter participated in a marathon to benefit a worthwhile cause, recently. Louise Wallin from Yellow Grass and her daughter Sherry Wallin of Moose Jaw participated in the Las Vegas Marathon on December 5.

A Weyburn-area woman and her daughter participated in a marathon to benefit a worthwhile cause, recently. Louise Wallin from Yellow Grass and her daughter Sherry Wallin of Moose Jaw participated in the Las Vegas Marathon on December 5. There were 28,000 runners and walkers registered for the event which benefits the Crohns & Colitis Foundation.

Each marathon participant was placed in corrals and each corral was released at different intervals. It took 45 minutes before the Wallin's crossed the start line. By the time they started the marathon, some of the first marathon participants were on their way back from running 13 miles on the Las Vegas Strip. The women said that it was a great experience and breathtaking to be a part of the marathon.
