Cheers to the farmers of southeast Saskatchewan who are out in the field once again and planting the crops in the field. Our farmers produce the crops that feed the world, and play a big part in Saskatchewan’s economy.
Cheers to the reopening of the retail businesses in Estevan and other communities. Please remember to shop local, but to respect social distancing regulations when you do.
Cheers to being able to golf and fish during the Victoria Day long weekend. These are sports that can be enjoyed by small groups of people in spread-out areas.
Cheers to the work that’s happening at Centennial Park in Estevan. Once we’re able to use them, the splash park and the play structure will be a lot of fun for the kids.
Jeers:
Jeers to the social media trolls who fail to think before they post, who don’t do their research on a subject, or who are stuck with their pre-conceived notions. What’s worse is many of them don’t put their name behind their opinion.
Jeers to the people who continue to toss litter in the ditches and fields near our highways. It creates an eyesore and we don’t have people out cleaning them up in the spring like we normally do.
Jeers to the government for not including Highway 47 from Estevan to Stoughton in its highways stimulus spending package. That stretch of highway is really beat up, still has a lot of traffic on it, and needs to be addressed.
