Wawota Lions Club has four new inductees. They are Kayle Swanson, Brady Dinwoodie, Dylan Lamontagne and Dale Hewitt. This brings the membership to 32. The Lions are a very busy group and make Wawota a better place to live. Thank you for your service.

Congratulations to Robynn Corkish and Ryan Brooks, who were married on March 7 in Hawaii. Robynn is the daughter of Pat and Kellie Corkish of Athabasca, Alta., and the granddaughter of Saundra Corkish and the late Moe Corkish.

Born to Layne Saville and Katelyn Matsalla of Carlyle, a daughter. She was born on March 2 and weighed seven pounds, seven ounces. She has been named Halle Kate and she is a sister for Macsen. She is a granddaughter for Deb Saville, Lance and Mel Saville at Elkwater, Alta., and Ron and Donna Matsalla of Carlyle.

She is also a great-granddaughter for Cathy Maser of Brooks, Alta., Gerry Steward of Lethbridge, Alta., Betty Ronvel of Fort McMurray, and Joe Saville and Joan Maebis of Consul.

Sympathy to the family and friends of the late Lenn Dovell. He passed away on March 8th at the age 72 years. Lenn was a well-known and well-liked member of the Kenosee Lake Community for several years. He took part in many sports, including baseball, hockey, curling, golfing and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Lynn, and family, Dirk, Tami and Kandi and their spouses and children. A funeral service will be held on March 20 in Windthorst, with interment in the Windthorst Cemetery.
