Photos: Energy Dash and Splash at Boundary Dam

Participants enjoyed a short run-walk and a polar bear swim

ESTEVAN - The first-ever Energy Dash and Splash at Woodlawn Regional Park's Boundary Dam site on Saturday proved to be a hit with the community.

Nearly 50 people participated in the inaugural event. They participated in a brief run or walk, braving the strong, chilly breeze at various stages. Then they ventured into Boundary Dam for a brief polar bear swim. Some submerged themselves briefly in the reservoir.

Peggy Rohatyn and Debby Knight from Fresh Air Fitness organized the event. Proceeds from the Dash and Splash will be directed to the Fresh Air Fitness outdoor recreation site at Woodlawn Regional Park.

The next edition of the Mercury will have more on this story.
