Weyburn Chamber's Parade of Lights brings Christmas colours to the streets

The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce held their annual Parade of Lights on Thursday evening, with many bright, colourful floats lit up with Christmas colours from teams, groups, organizations and businesses.

WEYBURN – The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce held its annual Parade of Lights on Thursday evening. The streets were lined with hundreds of spectators watching over 50 festively decorated floats going by.

“Our hats go off to all our parade participants. The creativity and hard work that goes into each entry is amazing," Larry Heggs, Executive Director, of the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce said. “Each year our parade gets better and we thank everyone in attendance.”

Although the judges had a difficult time determining a winner in each category, in the end they made their announcement. The parade awards winners in the two categories are as follows:

  1. Business: Souris Valley Industries

  2. Organization: Weyburn Skating Club

Honourable mentions to the Weyburn Credit Union and Mainil Farms Ltd. for their creative floats.

The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce is extending a sincere thank you to all organizations, businesses, and community members who entered the parade. Thank you to the City Police, City of Weyburn, Don’s Plumbing and Heating and the judges for their service and coordination.

This year’s Parade was a great event, as the community pride of all residents continues to be a driving force celebrating Weyburn’s activities and events.
