ESTEVAN - The City of Estevan’s leisure services division hopes to see a good turnout for the annual city-wide registration on April 4 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on the walking track at Affinity Place.

As part of city-wide, the Estevan Leisure Centre’s multi purpose room will hold Prairie Lithium’s community engagement open house. Prairie Lithium is working to develop its lithium brine resource in southeast Saskatchewan, through the utilization of existing oil and gas infrastructure and working with local contractors.

Direct extraction of lithium from brines is a new industry that is evolving quickly, the city said in a news release, and they are one of the companies leading that evolution in Canada.

Community members are encouraged to attend and learn more about the work they do, the growing industry and how they play a role in our community. The open house will happen at the same time as city-wide registration.

City-wide registration is attended by Estevan residents wanting information about organizations, activities, and adult and children’s groups within our city during the spring and summer seasons.

Organizations that will be in attendance are the Estevan Public Library, Souris Valley Theatre, Estevan Youth Soccer, Estevan Golden Eels Swimming Club, TS&M Woodlawn Junior Golf, Estevan Drone Racing, Estevan Public Youth Centre, Challenger Baseball, OM Yoga Studio and Starfish Swimming Canada Swimming Lessons.
