The family of Louise Margaret Hersche are saddened to announce her passing on January 22, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Louise was born January 27, 1929 in Ceylon, SK, one of 12 children of Helen and Rene DeRoose.

The family of Louise Margaret Hersche are saddened to announce her passing on January 22,  2018 at the age of 88 years. Louise was born January 27, 1929 in Ceylon, SK, one of 12 children of Helen and Rene DeRoose. Louise was predeceased by her parents: Helen and Rene DeRoose; her husband Otto; brothers: Joseph, Adolph, Remie, Oscar DeRoose; sisters: Margaret DeRoose, and Annie DeRoose. Louise is survived by her children: Robert (Virginia) Hersche, Regina, SK; Gary (Mary) Hersche, Saskatoon, SK;  Ronald (Kathy) Hersche, Magnolia, Texas; grandchildren and great grandchildren:  Timothy (Melissa) and family [Abigail, Benjamin], Daniel (Robyn), Alison (Gerald) and family [Brynn and Westin], Kevin, David, Erik, Taylor (Aaron) and daughter [Tahlia]; sisters: Mary, Alice, Camilla, Martha (Lionel) and Emma; as well as several nieces and nephews. After graduating high school in Radville, Louise attended Moose Jaw Normal School where she achieved her teaching certificate.  While teaching at Jutland School, Louise met Otto Hersche. They married April 17, 1950. After living in a few locations in SK and Alberta, Louise and Otto settled in Sybouts where Otto began a career as foreman at Sybouts Sodium Sulphate plant.  It was here they raised their 3 boys.  After Otto’s retirement in 1988, they moved to Weyburn and enjoyed fishing with friends, travelling and spending time with their grandchildren. Mom, we will miss your baking, meals, care packages and sage advice.  Also, we are forever grateful for your passing on your love of history, family and quest for knowledge. A Visitation was held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. from RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, SK. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, SK with Fr. Gerry Bauche celebrant. Interment was held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn, SK and luncheon  followed at McKenna Hall, Weyburn, SK. For family and friends so wishing, charitable donations in memory of Louise may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1V9. Arrangements were entrusted to RD Family Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Weyburn, SK  (848-0333 ~ 1-888-848-0333).
