Hundreds of performers in Weyburn for 15th Inspiration of Dance

Hundreds of dancers, from 20 dance studios around Saskatchewan, converged on Weyburn for the four-day Inspirations of Dance competition, now in its 15th year.

WEYBURN – Hundreds of dancers, from 20 dance studios around Saskatchewan, converged on Weyburn for the four-day Inspirations of Dance competition, now in its 15th year.

There were so many entries, the dance competition began on Thursday at McKenna Hall, then moved to the Cugnet Centre at the Weyburn Comprehensive School from Friday to Sunday.

The competition has dancers of all ages, from under five years old up to 17 years of age, with performances of solo dancers, duets and trios, small groups and large groups. 

There were ballet classes, pointe, jazz, tap, musical theatre, lyrical, hip-hop, acro and contemporary categories.

The adjudicators for the dance classes were Kara Wozniak from Edmonton, and Terralea Armstrong of Saskatchewan.
