WEYBURN – The Spirit Singers presented excerpts of their musical, "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown" as part of the Mayor's Luncheon for the Weyburn CMHA's celebration of Mental Health Week.

In between songs and skits, the Singers talked about the importance of positive mental health, and ways people can interact with others to help promote good mental health.

The singing group, led by Kendra Gonczy and accompanied by Colleen Weimer, are preparing for a special trip at the end of May to New York City, to perform at Carnegie Hall along with other groups from Saskatchewan.

CMHA board chair Jamie Blunden was the emcee for the luncheon, which also had remarks from Mayor Marcel Roy, Britton Houdek, director of Mental Health and Addictions for the SHA, and Trevor Gates, executive director of CMHA Saskatchewan.

The CMHA Weyburn branch reported that in 2023-24, they worked directly with 90 individuals through their programs and services, served over 1,400 meals in the centre, and distributed over 5,500 resources through their awareness initiatives.
