The DeTricky Feet dance studio of Weyburn hosted hundreds of dancers for the second annual DeFeet Dance Challenge, over the weekend.

WEYBURN – The DeTricky Feet dance studio of Weyburn hosted hundreds of dancers for the second annual DeFeet Dance Challenge, which ran for three solid days of dancing from April 5 to 7 at the Cugnet Centre.

A total of 13 dance clubs took part in the weekend competition, featuring solo, duet, trio, small and large groups from beginners up to adult age groups.

The styles included tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, modern, and acro dance.

Two adjudicators were on hand to provide marks and comments, Kara Dubyk from Saskatoon and Kelly Woodley, who has a studio in Shellbrook along with teaching in Saskatoon.

In addition to the marks, both adjudicators brought each group of dancers back onto the stage and demonstrated one of the moves they saw dancers making, with suggestions of how to improve the move.

Following the competitions, a Dance-Off was held on Sunday, with cash prizes for the first, second and third placements in each age division.
