SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN - A frost advisory was issued for southeast Saskatchewan.

The advisory was issued in the late afternoon of May 17, and covered Carlyle, Bienfait, Oxbow, Carnduff, Redvers, Kipling, Wawota, Whitewood, Moosomin and other areas in the region.

"Temperatures are expected to fall to or below the freezing mark tonight under partly cloudy skies," Environment Canada said in the advisory.

Frost advisories for the season begin the Saturday afternoon of the Victoria Day long weekend and will run through the end of September. They are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
