KISBEY — With performances from April 25-27, a total of 250 supporters of the Kisbey Dinner Theatre took in the two-act play Holed Up, directed by Amber Evans.
Two bank robbers, Eli Darnish (played by Riley James) and his partner in crime Hayes Hilly (played by Janelle David) attempt to escape with their stolen money only to have Eli fall into a well in what appears to be an abandoned town. Their escape plans become even more complicated when Lindsay Gaines (played by Laurin Hoffmann) appears on stage in quite a panic after losing her son Timmy.
Two feuding news crews appear to begin filming their piece on yet another forgotten ghost town of Saskatchewan.
Cynthia Stump, a veteran TV journalist played by Charlotte Widdifield, and her camera woman Sherri (played by Patty Baumgartner) experience many technical hiccups with old equipment that just won’t get the story or the ratings they were hoping for.
Paige Written, a rookie TV journalist/online icon played by Leslie Davidson, appears and steals the show with her super expensive collection of high-tech GoPros. Paige never misses a chance to report on another exclusive.
Detective George (played by Allan Jackson) along with his deputy/ex-fiancé Beth Ryder (played by Kelsey Drumm) try to sort out all the details in this confusing situation while working through the challenges that arise when someone is left at the altar.
This mixed-matched crew attempts to work together to get Timmy out of the well and solve this complicated conundrum.
The Kisbey Dinner Theatre thanks Richard Krehbiel for prompting; Grant Beuckert for lighting and sound; Wytt Hall for set design and building; Elisa Jackson and Andy Maygard for working the bar; Darlene Olsen for organizing the raffle and silent auctions;, Shelly Curtis, Hanna Evans, Claudia Mullis, Mike Wyatt and Wytt Hall for raffle ticket and 50/50 ticket sales; Landon Evans for playing the part of the real Timmy, The Silver Thread and Legion for allowing us to take over their space; and the various local businesses and individuals from surrounding local communities for donating raffle prizes.
